Description

Spend the night at 2,000 metres above sea level under the starry sky of Flims in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona. This unique World Heritage experience offers an outdoor overnight stay next to Segneshütte, close to the Sardona Visitor Pavilion. Dinner and breakfast are served at Segneshütte.

Every Saturday and Sunday, a GeoGuide is present at Segneshütte and offers fascinating insights into the modern understanding of Alpine formation and the unique geological significance of the Sardona World Heritage Site.

Look forward to fresh mountain air, a breathtaking starry sky, and the extraordinary natural wonder of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona.

Meeting point

Segneshütte, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

From 5:00 p.m. collect outdoor equipment at Segneshütte and set up sleeping area

Dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Breakfast from 7:30 a.m.

Packing list

  • If available, bring your own sleeping bag (recommended for temperatures down to 0°C)
  • Hiking boots with profile sole
  • Weather-appropriate clothing and a change of clothes
  • Water bottle and, if desired, a small snack

Important Information
Due to adverse weather conditions (e.g. heavy rain or thunderstorms), the experience may be cancelled. Any cancellation will be communicated no later than 12:00 noon on the day before arrival. Dogs are not permitted. The mountain railway ticket can be collected at the valley station ticket corner Flims.
